Miami

Shawn and I finally got away for a baby-free weekend. Shawn had to go down to Miami to watch the Heat playoff game for work, so I tagged along. (Shout out to Auntie Katie for watching NB for the weekend!)

We had great food and loved our hotel. When we told them we were celebrating our first weekend away from the baby, and our anniversary the hotel sent a bottle of wine with a cheese plate to the room! Gotta love it

Buzzed

With the unofficial start of summer this past weekend, we decided it was time for Nolan to get a buzz cut. We've had temps well over 80 for over a week, and poor Nolan was pulling at his sweat matted hair all day. We went to BB&B and bought a pair of clippers. You can buy clippers for $20, or we can keep paying upwards of $30 per baby haircut.......summer no brainer?!?!!
It is still taking some getting used to for me, but I think Nolan loves it. I'm sure he's about 10 degrees cooler now! It has been funny to see people who see our little crazy haired babe all the time not recognizing, or taking a triple look to make sure its Nolan.

Constant Change

For my own memories, I guess I should be blogging everyday about our little man. He is such a character. Everyday there is something new. He is totally obsessed with not only the New York Knicks and Yankee logo's, but all day long he points and the computer, starts dancing and says, "GO, GO, GO." In Nolan language that means play the Swizz Beats Go New York Video. Link here to see what my son is obsessed with.

He even tries to sing the words. HILARIOUS! We have a video of him going nuts for this song. Hopefully I can get that posted.

One of my many new favorite names for him is fruit bat. He would eat fruit all day every day if I let him. Clearly that is not a balanced diet, and we have to give him other things too. He's pretty much a vegetarian. He doesn't really like to eat chicken, fish, turkey or beef. We can sneak things in, but he won't just eat them off his plate. He used to eat any thing we gave him, but we now know he's a little more selective!

As for toys.....who needs them. This kid is seriously all boy. Rocks, sticks, dirt, shovel, older girls (like 3 and 4) we seriously have our hands full. The only time he really wants to stick around me is at the gym when I drop him off at daycare. It is seriously hilarious how he clings to me and cries, but when we are ANY other place he runs as far away as possible. Hopefully these pics can be worth a thousand words.

On a final update note, this kid's hair is out of control. We have cut it three times and he's had a few other trims. I'm pretty sure that the next step is the clippers. I know at first I'll be sad to see his crazy mullet gone again, but it is hair after all and as we all know it will grow back!
